The Markets overview brings six asset classes together in one place: major forex pairs, leading cryptocurrencies, world stock indices, commodities, the most active US stocks and the most traded ETFs. Each section has its own table and links through to a dedicated asset-class page (for example /currencies, /crypto or /commodities). You can also jump straight to any class from the "Browse by Asset Class" links at the bottom of the page.
It depends on the asset class and the upstream feed. Cryptocurrency quotes come from Binance and update in near real time, while forex, indices, commodities, stocks and ETFs come from Yahoo Finance and may be delayed depending on the exchange. Each table shows a "Live" or "Delayed" pill so you always know which you are looking at, and if a feed is unreachable the page shows last-known prices rather than breaking.
While the page is open and the tab is visible, each market table polls our live feed roughly every 5 seconds, and the page itself is regenerated on the server about every 30 seconds. Polling pauses in background tabs to save bandwidth and resumes the moment you return. When the feed is live, the pill shows an "Updated" timestamp marking when we last received a fresh response.
The top movers are found by ranking every instrument we track across all six asset classes by its percentage change, then showing the five largest gains and the five largest declines. Because the list spans forex, crypto, indices, commodities, stocks and ETFs together, a mover can come from any market. Each row links to that instrument's detail page.
No. The small "Trend" sparkline in each table is an indicative shape, not a record of real intraday price history. It starts from a synthetic curve and then streams in the live last price as it updates, so it conveys recent direction rather than an accurate tick-by-tick chart. For deeper analysis, open the dedicated page for an individual instrument.
Yes. Alongside the price tables, the page includes a compact Economic Calendar of upcoming scheduled events (with currency, impact and forecast figures) and a Latest Market News list.
