About TTF Gas
TTF, the Title Transfer Facility, is the virtual trading point for natural gas in the Netherlands and the main benchmark for wholesale gas prices in Europe. The quote on this page follows the front-month Dutch TTF natural gas calendar-month futures contract listed on NYMEX (CME Group), priced in euros per megawatt-hour (EUR/MWh). It is not the US Henry Hub price shown on the natural gas page, which is quoted in US dollars per million British thermal units: the two are different markets with different supply, demand and currency.
Europe imports most of the gas it burns, so TTF is driven by the balance between pipeline supply, chiefly from Norway, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes that Europe has to compete for with buyers in Asia. Storage is the other pillar: traders track how full European storage sites are against seasonal norms and EU targets, because a low starting level going into winter leaves the market exposed to cold weather.
Weather drives demand in both directions, through winter heating and through how much wind and solar power is available, since gas-fired plants fill the gap. The price of carbon emission allowances, the switch between coal and gas in power generation, pipeline and LNG terminal outages, and geopolitical events affecting supply routes can all move TTF quickly. Volume in the NYMEX-listed contract is thinner than on the main European exchange, but the price follows the same benchmark.
The market for TTF Gas is currently closed. At the last close it stood at 93.85, a move of +3.81 (+4.23%) versus the previous close of 90.04, after ranging between 92.57 and 94.03 over that session.

TTF Gas — frequently asked questions
What is the Dutch TTF gas price today?
This page tracks the front-month Dutch TTF natural gas futures contract in euros per megawatt-hour, with an intraday chart and the day's range. TTF is the reference price for wholesale gas across most of Europe.
What is the difference between TTF and Henry Hub?
TTF is the European benchmark, traded in the Netherlands and priced in euros per megawatt-hour. Henry Hub is the US benchmark, delivered in Louisiana and priced in US dollars per million British thermal units. One megawatt-hour is about 3.412 million British thermal units, so comparing the two needs both a unit and a currency conversion, and they often move differently because their regional supply and demand differ.
What moves the TTF gas price?
LNG supply and competition with Asian buyers, Norwegian pipeline flows and maintenance, European storage levels, weather and renewable power output are the main drivers. Carbon prices, coal-to-gas switching in power generation and any disruption to supply routes also play a part.
Why is TTF quoted in euros per megawatt-hour?
European gas is bought and sold by its energy content and settled in euros, so the market uses euros per megawatt-hour. The price on this page is shown exactly as the contract quotes it, with no conversion to US dollars.
What does the TTF Gas 52-week range show?
The 52-week range is the lowest low and the highest high TTF Gas printed across the past 52 weeks of daily bars, so it shows where the current price sits relative to that year's extremes. Computed from FXMARE's daily price history, the current 52-week range is 26.55 – 94.03.
