Delete Your Account
You can delete your FXMARE account at any time, from the app or the website, without asking anyone. This page explains how, exactly what is removed, what is kept and for how long. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone— if you only want to remove certain data and keep your account, use Delete specific data instead.
On this page
1.Delete it yourself (fastest)
Deletion is immediate and takes effect the moment you confirm. It does not need our approval and there is no waiting period.
- In the FXMARE Android app
- Open the app → Account → Security → Delete account. Confirm with your password. The account and its data are erased immediately and you are signed out.
- On the website
- Sign in, then go to Account settings → Security → Delete account, and confirm with your password.
2.Request deletion by email
If you cannot sign in — a lost password, a closed email account, an uninstalled app — email [email protected] with the subject Delete my account, from the email address the account is registered to. Include that address in the message.
We must be able to tell it is really you, so if we cannot verify the request from the sending address we will ask one or two questions about the account before acting. We will never ask you for your password. We confirm by email once deletion is complete.
3.What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently erases the following from our production database. This is not an archive or a “disabled” flag — the rows are removed.
- Your account record
- Name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), email-verification status, signup country and IP address, and your Google account identifier and profile-picture URL if you linked Google sign-in.
- Your entire trading journal
- Every trade you logged — instrument, direction, entry and exit, size, profit and loss, fees, stops, risk, ratings, tags, mistakes and your private notes — along with every trading account you created in the journal, whether active or archived.
- Trade screenshots
- Every chart image you attached to a trade.
- Sessions and sign-in tokens
- All active sessions on every device, plus any outstanding email-verification or password-reset tokens. You are signed out everywhere.
- Blocks
- Any community blocks you set, and any set against you.
4.What is kept, and why
Two categories survive account deletion. We would rather tell you plainly than let you discover it afterwards.
- Public contributions — kept, but disconnected from you
- Forum threads and replies, broker reviews, broker complaints and complaint comments stay on the site, because deleting them would remove context from conversations other people took part in and from reviews other readers rely on. They are permanently detached from your account: your name and email are removed and the posts can no longer be traced back to you. If you want them taken down entirely rather than anonymised, ask us beforeyou delete your account — once the link is severed we can no longer find which posts were yours.
- Records we are required to keep
- Where the law requires it — tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or an unresolved legal claim or dispute — we keep the minimum record necessary for as long as that obligation lasts, and use it for nothing else. In practice this applies to almost no ordinary account.
- Server logs and analytics
- Technical logs and aggregate analytics are not tied to your account record and are not searchable by it. They age out on their normal schedule — see Privacy Policy § 9.
5.How long it takes
- Deleting it yourself
- Immediate. Your account and the data listed in section 3 are erased as you confirm. There is no grace period and no recovery window, so please export anything you want to keep first.
- By email request
- Within 30 days, and usually within a few business days. This is the maximum response time GDPR allows, not a target.
- Backups
- Our database backups are kept for 30 days on a rolling schedule and are then overwritten. A deleted account may persist in an encrypted backup until its cycle expires; backups are used only to restore the service after a failure, never to re-create a deleted account.
6.If you signed in with Google
Deleting your FXMARE account erases the data we received from Google — your name, email address, profile-picture URL and Google account identifier — along with everything else in section 3. We never had access to your Gmail, Drive, Contacts or any other Google service.
These are two separate actions, and doing one does not do the other. Revoking FXMARE’s access from your Google account permissions stops future sign-ins but leaves your FXMARE account and journal intact. Deleting your FXMARE account removes the data but does not revoke the Google permission. If you want both, do both.
7.Questions
Email [email protected] or use our contact page. You also have the right to request a copy of your data, correct it, or object to its processing — see your privacy rights. To remove specific data without closing your account, see Delete specific data.
