About JCI
The Jakarta Composite Index - known locally as the IHSG (Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan) and internationally as the IDX Composite or JCI - is the broad benchmark of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). It covers the shares listed on the exchange and is weighted by market capitalisation, so the biggest companies move it most. The level is quoted in index points on a rupiah (IDR) basis.
Large banks are the heaviest part of the index, alongside telecoms, consumer goods and natural-resource companies in coal, nickel, palm oil and other commodities that Indonesia exports. That mix makes the index sensitive to Bank Indonesia's interest-rate decisions, the rupiah, domestic consumption and commodity prices. Foreign portfolio flows are watched closely: as in other emerging markets, a stronger US dollar or rising US yields tend to pull overseas money out, pressuring both the rupiah and the index at the same time.
The market for JCI is currently closed. At the last close it stood at 5,439.26, a move of +51.35 (+0.95%) versus the previous close of 5,387.91, after ranging between 5,366.29 and 5,455.21 over that session. FXMARE's technical engine currently reads the setup as Strong Sell.

JCI — frequently asked questions
What is the Jakarta Composite Index?
The Jakarta Composite Index is the main benchmark of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. It is called the IHSG in Indonesia and the IDX Composite or JCI by international data providers; all three names refer to the same index. It tracks the shares listed on the exchange weighted by market capitalisation, making it the broad gauge of the Indonesian stock market.
When does the Indonesian stock market trade?
The Indonesia Stock Exchange trades on weekdays in two sessions split by a midday break, opening at 09:00 Western Indonesia Time and closing in the afternoon after a closing auction. The Friday break is longer to allow for Friday prayers. Jakarta time is UTC+7 with no daylight saving, and the exchange closes on Indonesian public holidays, including the Eid al-Fitr period.
What moves the Jakarta Composite?
Bank shares carry the most weight, so Bank Indonesia's rate decisions and credit growth matter most. Commodity prices feed in through the coal, nickel and palm-oil producers, and household consumption drives the consumer names. The rupiah and foreign portfolio flows connect the index to global conditions: a firmer US dollar or higher US yields usually weigh on both.
What does the JCI 52-week range show?
The 52-week range is the lowest low and the highest high JCI printed across the past 52 weeks of daily bars, so it shows where the current price sits relative to that year's extremes. Computed from FXMARE's daily price history, the current 52-week range is 4,907.37 – 9,174.47.
