Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember your preferences and choices, and to provide information to the site owners. Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage, pixels and software development kits — perform comparable functions, and in this policy we refer to all of them together as “cookies”.

Cookies can be first-party (set by FXMARE) or third-party (set by another organisation whose services we use, such as an analytics or advertising provider). They can also be session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain for a set period or until you delete them.

We group the cookies and similar technologies we use into the four categories below. Only strictly necessary cookies are set by default; analytics cookies are set only after you accept, and we currently set no advertising cookies at all.

The GA4 tag loads in a consent-denied state by default. Until you accept, it writes no cookies and uses no persistent identifiers. If you reject — or accept and later change your mind — we push a consent denial to Google immediately and expire any _ga cookies that were previously set.

The table below lists examples of the cookies we and our partners typically use. Exact names, providers and lifetimes may change as we update the site and our partners update their products; this list is illustrative rather than exhaustive.

When you first visit, a banner at the bottom of the page offers two choices: Accept all (enables analytics cookies) and Reject all(keeps analytics in cookieless, consent-denied mode). The banner does not block the page — you can keep browsing, and until you make a choice we treat you as having declined. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage (fxm_consent) and kept until you clear it or change it; we do not expire it or re-prompt you on a schedule.

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. The Cookie Preferences button in the site footer clears your saved choice and shows the banner again so you can decide differently. If you reject after previously accepting, we push a consent denial to Google Analytics immediately and expire its _ga cookies. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

We also honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser or an extension sends GPC, we keep analytics consent denied even if a stored Accept exists. For more detail on the data we process and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.

Some cookies are set by third parties that provide services to us. The main third parties are:

• Google (Google Analytics 4) — measures how the site is used. The GA4 script loads in a consent-denied state and sets cookies only after you accept analytics in the consent banner; until then it operates in cookieless mode with no persistent identifiers.
• Advertising partners — none currently set cookies on FXMARE. The ad units on the site are first-party house promotions with no third-party scripts. If that changes, we will ask for consent first and update this policy.
• Cloudflare — provides content delivery, security and bot protection that keep the site fast and safe. These are strictly necessary.

These third parties process data under their own privacy and cookie policies. Should we ever introduce interest-based advertising, you would be asked for consent first; industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance, the Network Advertising Initiative and Your Online Choices also let you limit interest-based ads across the web.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal, technical or operational reasons. When we make changes we will update the “last updated” date above. Please check back periodically to stay informed.
