Broker safety checks
Before you deposit, two questions matter more than spreads: is this firm actually licensed to take your money, and what happens when clients try to withdraw it? These pages answer both from primary sources — the regulators' own public registers, the broker's published terms, and named review platforms — with every claim linked.
How we assess a broker
- 1.Verify the licence at the source. We take the entity name and licence number from the broker's own legal pages, then look them up on the regulator's public register — never the other way round. A licence claim on a broker's website is a marketing statement until the register confirms it.
- 2.Check the warning lists. We search the FCA Warning List, the IOSCO investor-alert portal and the major national regulators for any formal alert naming the firm or its domains.
- 3.Read what clients actually report. We record the rating and review volume on named platforms, dated, and identify the recurring themes in both the criticism and the praise — not a handful of cherry-picked reviews.
- 4.Publish the gaps. Anything we could not confirm from a primary source is listed on the page as unverified. We would rather leave a question open than fill it with a guess.
We do not accept payment to publish, alter or remove a safety check, and these pages carry no affiliate links. If you are a firm named here and believe something is inaccurate, contact us with the primary source and we will correct it — see our corrections policy.
