Market Edge Data Sources
Every source Market Edge reads from, disclosed by name — what it is, how reliable it is, what it’s licensed for, how often it refreshes, and its live health right now. Two components that would ideally draw on a licensed economic-data vendor have no source here at all; see the methodology page for that disclosure.

Frequently asked questions
What counts as a "primary" versus a "proxy" source?
Primary means the source directly measures what it's used for (e.g. Yahoo's own FX/gold quotes, or CFTC's own positioning report). Proxy means a real, live source is standing in for something it doesn't directly measure — TLT (a Treasury-bond ETF) as a yield-direction proxy, or the US-500 index as a risk-sentiment proxy. Both are disclosed as such wherever they're used, never presented as the real thing.
Why does a source show "Never checked" under Last Checked?
Because no automated health-check writer has run against it yet in this environment — that column starts null for every source and is never backfilled with a guessed timestamp. It reflects the real, current state of the registry, not an error.
Are any of these sources licensed commercial data feeds?
Most are public and free (Yahoo Finance quotes/technicals, the CFTC's own public reporting, the Forex Factory calendar cache). The three AI tiers are a commercial API (Alibaba Model Studio), and are used only to narrate and classify scores that code has already computed — never to set a number.
