What it is
The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee votes on the Bank Rate and publishes the vote split. On the same day the MPC releases the meeting minutes that explain the decision in detail.
Why it matters to traders
The Bank Rate is the dominant driver of sterling. Markets trade the vote split as keenly as the headline — a shift in the number of members favouring a cut can move the pound even when the rate itself is unchanged.
